Fur bearers such as mink, lynx, wolves and fishers are plentiful in the area.
Paul's trapline over 250 square miles covers a huge area with approximately 70 lakes, rivers and creeks.
| EXPERIENCE THE TRADITION OF TRAPPING
One of the unique opportunities offered to the guests of Winefred Lake Outfitters Ltd. Is a first-hand look at the age old art of trapping. All outdoor enthusiasts in Alberta are aware of trapping opportunities in our province, but few have the chance to get involved.
Paul runs a trap line where his accommodations are located, on the southwest corner of the lake, so hunters and anglers that stay with Paul get a bonus excursion if the are so inclined.
The trap line is one of the largest in the Lac La Biche Forestry, Fish and Wildlife Districts, encompassing six townships. The trap line runs 24 miles east - west and 12 miles north - south.
Common prey are lynx, beaver, otters, fishers, wolves, fox and coyotes.
